Days 6 and 7

These two days have been boring to say the least. Mining is a time consuming but very boring job, the thing that is keeping me doing it over and over again is the thought of a pure Gallente space. Granted we are still far away from achieving that goal but we're getting there. While I was mining these past two days I managed to grab some time to read, so I read about the stargate technology in New Eden.

To shorten everything up I will comment on, to me, interesting things I learned about stargates.

When a vessel requests jump clearance, the source node transmits a basic carrier signal that includes data on the class of the vessel, its mass, its current status, and its CISC (CONCORD Identification Serial Code) to the destination node, which then confirms receipt of the data. This entire process is automated, consisting of direct communication between the mainframes of the paired stargates.

This is quite an interesting fact, I for one never knew a communication on the vessel type, status and all sorts of data is taking place between two stargates, furthermore:

The gates then confirm alignment to each other before activating their retaining magnetic fields. Once this process is confirmed by both the source and the destination nodes, they simultaneously fire a focused beam of gravitons toward each other, folding space-time consistent with Weyl tensor dynamics, which creates a temporal singularity—or more simply, a tear in space-time—at both the source and the destination nodes. The two nodes monitor these singularities at intervals of one picosecond...

A picosecond, that is just mind blowing to me. And here is the science behind why our ships become invisible for a short period of time once we jump the gate:

For approximately one minute after the vessel’s arrival, the remnants of the mass boson sphere and the coating of particles produce a localized gravity well, bending light around the hull and effectively rendering the vessel invisible to the naked eye and most conventional sensor systems unless it moves.

So essentially we are stuck in that temporary gravity well for over a minute which makes us invisible unless we move our ship. And to think of what the size of that well would have to be to mask a signature of a capital class starship and to fling it across the systems is just unimaginable.

Oh here we are, our cargo hold is full, better dump that ore in the station before someone sees it and decides they need it, like those filthy serpentis pirates... I've killed at least dozen of them just while mining how greedy they are, ohhh I'll get all of those puny pirate factions once we rise to power, just wait and see. Their immature and scavenging kind of life is no match for a pure blood Gallente warrior!

I'll be back later once I find time to write in between mining, killing pirates and learning.
